Meet Rod Peirce

Rod founded Smartcomm back in 2006, underpinning the company with 25-plus years of executive-level experience setting up businesses across Australia, Asia and the United States.

Rod’s vision was simple: smarter communication for our customers. From an honest and reliable service provider.

Rod set out to help businesses scale up their customer conversations through personalised direct marketing. He went on to build a solid reputation with blue-chip clients such as Suncorp, Mater Hospital, RSL Lotteries, The Super Retail Group and QSuper. Rod recently he acquired a company (IQ Mail) servicing major councils across Queensland.

Investing for the future

Smartcomm’s first premises was in a 50-pallet tin shed at Stafford, with just three staff and one printer, folder and a mail inserting machine. Today, Smartcomm has a brand new five-million-dollar purpose-built facility, over 2250 square metres, with a storage capacity of 1200-pallets and 35 staff. Rod has gathered an impressive team around him, bringing print, mail and digital expertise, blue-chip relationships and a creative collective mindset.

“Smartcomm is investing for the future here. We’ve upped our production capacity with more inserting machines and now have not only full colour toner-based printing, but also high-speed inkjet printing. Our warehouse storage is fully air conditioned and managed by our online warehouse and distribution software Smartflo.  Our total complex both inside and out is protected by some of the latest security including fingerprint access via remote video monitoring 24/7.

“We can thank our customers and suppliers for their loyalty. It’s given us the ability to expand into our new premises. They’ve  had the belief and commitment to back Smartcomm over the years, without this support it just wouldn’t have happened,” says Mr Peirce.

Rod  enjoys supporting numerous causes and community groups. Every year, you’ll find him participating in Vinnies CEO Sleepout. Under his steerage, Smartcomm continues to embrace new technology and expand its service offering.
